Dr. Grigor V. Grigoryan, DVM, MSc, Veterinary Healthcare and Food Safety Expert

Dr. Grigor V. Grigoryan is a veterinarian with MSc in Animal Health followed by further postgraduate studies in Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety. Over the period from 2000 to 2012, he has worked in different fields covered by veterinary domain at the national level and occupied various positions ranging from veterinary hygienist in the private company delegated authority for official veterinary controls to the head of the state food safety service of Armenia. Since 2004 Dr. Grigoryan has been involved in different bilateral and multilateral cooperation programs, projects and other initiatives implemented under the auspices of different international organizations leading development of veterinary and food safety . Within this context he provided technical assistance in projects implemented in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Middle and South-East Asia, South Africa, South America and Caribbean with the emphasis on building institutional capacities and improving operational capabilities of veterinary services.


In 2010, Dr. Grigoryan became OIE technical expert for the PVS Pathway and along with that worked as a senior expert on TADs and zoonoses in the national scientific center for food safety risk assessment until 2014. In 2014 he was invited as an animal health expert to FAO AGAH and in 2016-2020 – as expert on prevention and control of zoonoses in WVA Zoonoses Working Group. Dr. Grigoryan fully aware of the OIE, FAO, WHO, WTO and EU policies and strategies in the areas of animal health, welfare and veterinary hygiene and provides his technical assistance and expertise to the area-specific projects implemented by the EC in the frame of its ENP, pre-accession countries and ACP (CARIFORUM) countries. Recently, Dr. Grigoryan was involved in the EC 11th EDF SPS Measures Project: “Strengthening Agricultural Health and Food Safety Policy Framework in the Caribbean”.

Dr. Abiola is an experienced Representative, scientist and educator with a demonstrated history of working in the international affairs industry. Dr. Abiola is skilled in Climate Change, Biofuels, Waste Management, Environmental Reclamation, Proposal Writing, Technical Writing, and Leadership. He is a strong professional with a Ph.D. focused in Microbial Ecology from University of Regina, Canada.
